This policy explains how the Southside Star Youth FC website uses cookies and similar storage, and how you can manage your choices.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files, and similar browser storage, that a website can save on your device. They're widely used to make sites work, to remember your choices, or to measure how a site is used.

What we use

We keep this simple. Our site does not set advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The only thing we store by default is:

• Your cookie choice — a small item saved in your browser's local storage that remembers whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies, so we don't ask you again on every visit. This is essential to respecting your preference and isn't used to track you.

We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. The Google Analytics code loads on every page, but it is set to store nothing on your device unless you agree. Until you choose "Accept all" it sets no cookies and uses no identifier for you — it can only send anonymous, aggregated signals such as the page address and whether you are a new or returning browser, which Google uses to estimate overall visitor numbers. You cannot be identified from that.

If, and only if, you choose "Accept all", it then sets these cookies:

• _ga — distinguishes one visitor from another. Expires after 2 years.
• _ga_SRXFVYX32D — keeps track of a single visit to the site. Expires after 2 years.

We ask Google to anonymise visitors' IP addresses. We use this only to see which pages are popular and how people find us, never to identify anyone, and we don't use it for advertising. You can read how Google uses this data.

If you reject, no cookies are set and no identifier is stored, on your device or anywhere else. We never enable Google's advertising features on this site, whatever you choose — the club runs no advertising and no ad data is shared.

Managing your choice

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer, which reopens the consent banner. You can also clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings, though some features may not work as well if you do.

Third-party content

Some pages embed content from other services, such as a Google map on our Visiting Teams page. These providers may set their own cookies when their content loads. We keep such embeds to a minimum.
